Go Horsey!
We had another great morning at Keeneland this year, we love Breakfast with the Works! The cousins all got in on the action and it was so fun to see them enjoy the sights, sounds, and running around like banshees!

Ride 'em Cowgirl
A sorority sister of mine holds a charity rodeo each year to support pediatric cancer research and patient support; her son is one of the mighty fighters battling ALL and beating it like a boss (visit their website here). We were excited that we already had plans to be in Lexington and knew Anna would have a blast. What we didn't anticipate was that she'd have SO MUCH fun on the mechanical bull and running around the bounce house with her main man, Owen. We had a great time for a great cause!
Oh yeah, and we met Willie Cauley-Stein!!

Terry the turtle
Once upon a time, I woke up from a rare weekend nap, looked out the bedroom window and saw a HUGE turtle / dinosaur on our front sidewalk.
You know, the usual.
Because I have a slight obsession with naming objects and animals, I decided on Terry (unisex), and she immediately drew a crowd in our small neighborhood. After the initial "oh my gosh, there's a huge turtle hanging out" shock wore off, we decided it was best to get Terry to the lake in the back of our neighborhood. But then the question was how. One neighbor suggested we pick her up by the tail, but that seemed like a risky idea. Shovelling Terry into a wheelbarrow was the idea that stuck and it was quite the sight ...
You know, the usual.
Turns out this pretty lady (speculation on the gender) had been hanging out in our neighbor's yard all weekend. We have a small creek directly behind our cul-de-sac and we suspect she came to drier land to lay eggs. (No eggs or baby turtles have been spotted to date).

Then, like normal neighbors do, we walked as a group back to the lake and released her.
And she lived happily ever after.
But not before a group of neighbors walked back to their homes in gang-like fashion pushing a wheelbarrow and holding shovels. The usual.

Reading rainbow
The moments that the girls can play together is getting longer each day. Charlotte simply adores her big sister and Anna takes her role very seriously as protector, teacher, and best friend. They love to read together and it's just the sweetest!

Don't just take my word for it (Miss C, March 2015)
3/2/15: Charlotte was serenading all her pals
at the lunch table. She sang the ABC song, counted for them, and sang the
wheels on the bus! Beautiful!
3/5/15: Charlotte couldn't wait to eat her
cupcakes. As I was passing them out she kept saying "Danielle cupcake
please"! Happy birthday Charlotte!
3/11/15: Charlotte was helping her pal find
all the toy foods and putting them in a pan for her. They were cooking up
something good!
Special picture - 3/12/15: Charlotte is
rocking her baby and saying shhh. What a good mommy.
3/12/15: We got to see a snake, lizard, and
chinchilla today! Charlotte loved the chinchilla! She got so close to touch him
but decided not to. It's ok though because he was cool to look at!
3/23/15: Charlotte had a great first day in
the Turtle room!! She carried around our little pink Easter basket and was
singing to herself in the kitchen!! She is a sweetie!!
3/24/15: Charlotte loves to sing. This
morning she picked up a star polly spot, held it high into the air and started
to sing "Twinkle twinkle Little Star." So cute.
3/25/15: Charlotte loved counting with Ms.
Hannah in circle time today! She did a fabulous job repeating the numbers in
Spanish too! :-)
3/26/15: Charlotte was sitting on the bean
bag pointing to the garden glove saying, "It's stop." What a great
reference she made to putting a hand up means stop. :)
3/27/15: Charlotte enjoyed doing our animal
puzzle and today. She kept pointing out the puppy to all her friends and
teachers saying, "look look puppy!"
3/30/15: Charlotte loved the feathers in
our sensory table today!! She walked up to the table and said, "Wow,
feathers"!! She liked putting them on her head and watching them float
down to the ground!
3/31/15: Charlotte loved having a cupcake
today at lunch. She had blue icing everywhere, it was so cute! She devoured her
cupcake, and licked the paper! Yum!

Don't just take my word for it (Miss A, March 2015)
3/5/15: I came up with something that
starts with the first letter of my name. It is... Apple! I like apples because
they are healthy!
3/6/15: Anna told us that she likes to
eat carrots for breakfast! I think she was being silly like Sam I Am! :)
3/9/15: We asked Anna what her favorite
animal is and why? She told us...Horses! Because they have horse shoes! ;)
3/11/15: We imagined we were birds and
answered the question "If I were a bird where would I fly to"? Anna
said.. I would fly to Florida to see Cinderella. :)
3/12/15: Today we had visitors that came
to our school and brought all kinds of cool animals with them. My favorite
was.. Snake, because.. It had a long tongue!
3/13/15: Anna told us that when she grows
up she wants to be a doctor because they fix people!
3/27/15: Anna told us that she likes to
play soccer at home! She helps her little sister score goals! Aww Anna is so
sweet!
3/30/15: Anna really enjoyed art today. I
noticed her talking to her classmate about the circus performer she was drawing
on her paper. Very sweet!
